Biography
![]() Ellen has always loved animals and started drawing them at a very young age. When she was in her early teens her parents bought her some paints, brushes and an easel to begin painting. As an adult her passion for painting has grown even stronger. She realizes the importance of how paintings of wildlife & birds can visually stimulate the hearts of people ‘to have a deeper compassion, concern and appreciation for what God has created and called 'good’. Wildlife, birds and domestic animals blended with the breath-taking landscape of the Pacific Northwest, Canada and Alaska are perfect inspiration for her work. She needs only to step outside the door for inspiration. Ellen’s husband, Ron, hand-crafted a log home for them in the beautiful mountains of northeast Washington which is home to numerous species of wildlife & birds. Ellen excels in detailed realism which requires patience beyond imagination. Miniature painting has been her specialty for many years but she still enjoys doing larger works, saw blades and Christmas balls when time allows. Ellen is a member of World Federation of Miniaturists, Cider Painters of America, Miniature Art Society of Florida (MASF) and the Association of Miniature Artists. For the past 10 years she has participated in national and international art exhibitions and competitions. She has been blessed with numerous awards. ![]() |
